Well the Snake River has receded from its run off stage having peaked right around 22000cfs this year. With so much water this year the river has taken awhile to start to fish well. With most of July behind us we are in for the best few months of fishing yet to come. Members have been enjoying increasingly good fishing on top with dry flies such as the Turks Tarantula and other large attractor patterns. The best fish are still being taken subsurface with nymphs and various streamer patterns. With the weather being abnormally hot for this time of year, the action has been most consistent in the morning and evening hours with the fish being lazy during the hottest hours of the day. Stop in at the club, or call us, and allow us to plan a day on the river for you as the fishing picks up and gets better by the day. I look forward to seeing you all on the water in the near future. With our thoughts on fishing, please mark your calendar for our 1st Sage Fly Fishing School which is to be held on the weekend of September 16th and 17th hosted here at the Snake River Sporting Club.
