NBC’s “The Today Show” featured Jackson Hole as one of two Yellowstone gateway communities in Wyoming. The popular morning show’s current “America the Beautiful” special highlights the country’s top 10 awe-inspiring locales. Number three was Yellowstone, and Tom Brokaw hosted the six-minute piece featuring the two gateway communities to Yellowstone in Wyoming – Jackson and Cody.

Over shots of the JH Airport, Brokaw began by saying the Tetons overlooked one of man’s most luxurious indulgences. “For every commercial flight that lands in Jackson everyday, six private jets arrive. Just one sign of this area’s great wealth,” Brokaw said.
The two minutes spent on Jackson played up the usual – shopping, skiing, fly-fishing – with Mayor Mark Barron closing the segment by offering the easy answer to the question that torments every tourist: Is the town called Jackson or Jackson Hole?
By the way, cyber-voters can cast their vote for Grand Teton National Park as the place the “Today Show” should visit next. Of the four choices listed – GTNP, Grand Canyon, Maui and the Golden Gate Bridge – GTNP leads with 40 percent of the vote. Visit www.today.msnbc.msn.com and follow links to travel.
