Snake River Sporting Club Mountain Lodge at Teton Village Welcomes Executive Chef Bernie McDonough

February 19, 2008 - Jackson Hole, WY - Snake River Sporting Club in Jackson Hole, WY, is pleased to announce its new Executive Chef, Bernie McDonough. Bernie joins the Snake River Sporting Club from two sister properties, the Ford Plantation in Savannah, GA, and most recently, Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay, BWI, where he has served as Opening and Executive Chef since 1998. Bernie will act as the new Executive Chef at the restaurant in the 2,600-square-foot Snake River Sporting Club Mountain Lodge at Teton Village.
The Mountain Lodge at the Teton Village ski resort area in Jackson Hole is a ski-in/ski-out Members’ Club just steps away from the mountain’s tram and gondola. Catering to Snake River Sporting Club homeowners, members and their families, the Mountain Lodge provides full concierge service, such as valet parking, boot warming and ski-tuning, as well as fine-dining- all in a personalized intimate setting.

Trained under the prestigious Brennan family, and having had short-term apprenticeships with three American culinary certified master chefs and five James Beard award winners, Bernie is an invaluable addition to Snake River Sporting Club. Beginning his culinary career at just 17 years old, Bernie started out as a prep cook at 45 South in Savannah, GA. Bernie has been featured alongside celebrity chefs, Emeril Lagasse and Gunter Seeger, on the PBS Holiday Special, Wining and Dining with Yves Durand - A Southern Holiday Celebration. More recently, Bernie’s breadth of culinary skills can be viewed in his new collaborative cookbook with 10 Speed Press, Savoring Savannah, distributed internationally worldwide. Bernie will head the Snake River Sporting Club Mountain Lodge at Teton Village’s fine dining experience, serving full course meals throughout the day alongside an impressive wine list

The Mountain Lodge at Teton Village is designed in conjunction with Studio SPF, a Fairfield, CT based design studio specializing in resort, leisure and private club design. The handcrafted wood and stone work, grand fireplace, heated outdoor terrace/lounge, and communal dining areas coupled with the most pristine of all natural locations is the perfect execution of Mountain Chic design. SPF’s work can also be seen throughout sister properties, The Greenbrier Sporting Club and Turks & Caicos Sporting Club.

Snake River Sporting Club will release thirty Mountain Lodge memberships (sixteen of which have already been sold pre-season). The membership offers members, their families and guests access to on-mountain facilities located at the base of Teton Village. The luxury lodge will offer full access to members during the winter and will host private parties and special events throughout the rest of the year.
